Death, love

In emerald fields the poppies grow

In emerald fields the poppies grow.

By the well in her arms she’ll know you
And love you in this brief armistice.
Arched in their hearts.

Until she’ll hold you down
And let you go.
Your last wish, you spoke.

In the watery channels below,
Furled cocoon existence.
How mournfully slow.

In emerald fields the poppies grow.

Cords of Light

Feeling around this darkness, alone
Except for the lasso of earthshine
All I have, are these imaginings
If I was whole;
The light would break through these craters of eyes
And the vastness of dawn would nourish
our friendship like the wildflowers

Rumi says “Submit to love without thinking, as the sun this morning rose recklessly extinguishing our star-candle minds.”

The children of the sun
Have been fooling
Underneath the new moon
On fire, in scarlet dreams of you

Pass the velvet decay
Near the collarbone of delight
Petal pinks
Sisters’ peaks can still rise

Ardent October nights ahead of us
A soft mouth with some proof
In their eternal eyes, they always knew who
Our lifetimes of aspen leaves
swaying in cadence breeze

Whispering words you hoped I never heard.
And you shot us down like a low flying bird.
Flicking away the dew drops that had stained your eyelashes.
Flicking away both me and pieces of the past.
You pulled that heart out of me.
Leaving me to breathe underwater in a black lonely sea.
The lights shift. Cracking to burn as you departed.
Lighting your way into a new design.
Somewhere in my memory, that rain never ends.
The moon will shine off your skin like Saturns rings.
And the twilight will stick to my eyelids like sleep.
Somewhere before that I will always be…
