Imprints: Dolores O’Riordan

I love what her music always resonated in my soul. As a teenager, many nights when I couldn’t articulate my despair, my depression…
I would replay her songs over and over. Artist like her made me feel less alienated to these contorted emotions.
I know she suffered with bipolar depression as I do and many others. And it is heartbreaking. I (we) do not know how she died. But we know a bit on how she lived. And it was through making beautiful songs with her soaring Irish voice, that cuts through to clarity in a day gone bad.
These are only a few of my favorite songs.

FEIST                                        🎶💓🌸🌑🌸💓🎶

You know when you love a singer so much, that when you hear they came out with a new album… your beyond thrilled… that tears are streams of joy. For six years I’ve wished for this day, had to share it! Springs here with Feist’s sixth album, well technically its full release is in April. But they released the song Pleasure

here it is…

[Verse 1]
Get what I want
And still it’s a mysterious thing that I want
So when I get it
I make sense of a mysterious thing
‘Cause I’ve taken flight on such a serious wing
I, and you are the same and
Either fiction or dreaming

[Pre-Chorus]
We know enough to admit
We know enough to admit
We know enough to admit

[Chorus]
It’s my pleasure
And your pleasure
It’s my pleasure
And your pleasure

[Verse 2]
Oh, an echo calls up the line
An indication of time
Our togetherness
That is how we evolved
We became our needs
Ages up inside
Escaping similar pain
Dreaming safe and secure
Generations in line
Old and then the youth
Come to meet or fade
A chromosomal raid
Built by what we got built for
As much as what we avoid
So the mystery lifts

[Pre-Chorus]
We know enough to admit
We know enough to admit

[Chorus]
It’s my pleasure
And your pleasure
It’s my pleasure
And your pleasure
That’s the same
That’s what we’re here for!
Pleasure, it’s my pleasure
It’s my pleasure, it’s my pleasure
That’s what we’re here for!
Pleasure, it’s my pleasure
It’s my pleasure, it’s my pleasure
That’s what we’re here for!
Pleasure
Pleasure
Pleasure
Pleasure, oh

Mine Na Poems, Relationship

Daisy Wheels

To be your doe,
Your dear,
Rays that drop from golden suns
Me, my name,
I call myself—Devlin
A fierce girl that wrapped
Celtic knots around her thumbs

Your heed,
To confuse
Entrap me in daisy wheels
Asunder the ancient powers,
Impossible!
It spins out,
Haunts in pottery shards
Ambrosial campfire
To sit in love with your kin

Dispel the engrave
A chiselled heart, a fantasy bond
Our eyes, deep seated truths
I cherish…
Your music, beyond the moon-wave
My cry, a beloved praise

Relationship

Squeezing Love

Breathing in you.
Breathing out you.
My lungs alone,
Love you.
Been in this prickly isolation.
Oh how long can we suffer?
Before the mind is bleak in blunders.
And west of home, you know you touched my indian summer.
So why can’t we quit this defeat?
At 22, I wish I had you honey.
For my heart was wounded
in deathly tension.
And my existence seemed like a fixed fate of continued loss and self-mutilation.
But don’t you know,
even then I heard you coming;
from a roof that could have
crushed every bone.
But now here we stand.
Merging our isolation.
Mouth to mouth.
Folded like an origami rose.
Kneaded,
our hearts found their way.
You.
Breathless and tall.

Lyrics that play over: Regina Regina “Small Bill$ “

Currently my favorite song…Just had to share 🙂

“Small Bill$”

His destiny was just too big to spend
So he broke it into smaller bills and change
By the time he’d try to buy the things he needed
He had spent it all on Lucy’s and weed and
He had spent it all on chips and Coca-Cola
He had spent it all on chocolate and vanilla
He had spent it all and didn’t even feel it
He had spent it all and didn’t even feel it

Na na na, na na na na, na na
Na na na, na na na na, na na
Na na na, na na na na, na na
Na na na, na na na na, na na
[x2]

All the poets in the alley coughing up blood
And their visions and their dreams are coming up red
They can neither wake up or go deeper
But it’s so dangerous to wake a deep sleeper

It’s like awakening a bear in winter
To feel the reckoning of hunger sprinter
He’s gonna stretch his claws and feel his power
And you are gonna know your final hour

Na na na, na na na na, na na
Na na na, na na na na, na na
Na na na, na na na na, na na
Na na na, na na na na, na na
[x2]

Better get a head start, start running
While you were skimming from the top was sunny
But all the weather ’bout to turn real crummy
‘Cause everybody gonna want their money
Yeah, everybody gonna want their money
Better get a head start, start running
Better get a head start, start running
Cause it’s about to get so unfunny

All the poets in the alley coughing up blood
And their visions and their dreams are coming up red
They can neither wake up or go deeper
But it’s so dangerous to wake a deep sleeper

Na na na, na na na na, na na
Na na na, na na na na, na na
Na na na, na na na na, na na
Na na na, na na na na, na na

Lyrics that play over:                       I remember

“And the way you sang it to me

So many times in other forms

On distant lands.
I remember your smile

And the way you sent it to me

So many times through different air

It lives inside my heart.
It is a dream

You and me

It can’t be real

I never felt a wind

So happy, so warm

That sent seven little red birds up my spine

Singing…”
